Cheer Up !!!

Day 27/Week 4

Feeling low on knowing that girl babies are in danger in this country. So many news articles are published in papers these days about the way girls and girl babies are treated. Need a lot of cheer up.... which i derive from my little angel. This photo, reminds me of the courage and strength of my daughter. She is the one who is keeping me ALIVE and motivates me to move on in life, even when she is not here with us...

LOVE YOU PATTU CHELLAM... MISS YOU A LOT... NOT A DAY PASSES WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT YOU...

Contradictions of LIFE

Day 26/Week 4
Woke up to a shocking news....
This article on the popular daily's main page portrays the contradictions in life. The ear panel advertising for a life insurance whereas the irony is that 8 people lost theirs and over a score seriously injured. These are "the times of indians"....

Serene

Day 25/Week 4

Inward calm cannot be maintained unless physical strength is constantly and intelligently replenished.” ~ Buddha.

Having brought a smile on a little girl's face, helping her to feed on something nutritious, i feel my inner energy flowing in abundance.

Year of the Dragon

Day 24/Week 4

Ushering in the chinese new year.. the year of the dragon. The time of the year to welcome longevity, wealth and prosperity and to eliminate any negative chi from the past.

Pink

Day 23/Week 4

All i knew about dragon fruit was that it gives the player 45 energy points on a treasure isle game. Tasting them for the first time in my life, i came to know that they are high in polyunsaturated fatty acids and help lactating mothers in their yield of baby's manna.

Yellow

Day 22/Week 4

Popular for the saying "whoever eats a jackfruit, will be touched by the sap". This yellow beauty is from our home garden. She yields only one fruit a year, sweet from the tip till rear.

Green

Day 21/Week 3

Kiwis are nature's gift. One is a flightless beauty and the other my favourite fruity.

Burgundy

Day 20/Week 3

Mulberries... rich in vitamin A, C, K, potassium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus and calcium.  My first ever encounter with mulberries.... loved them to the core. It also reminds me of the colour of WINE ;-)

Orange

Day 19/Week 3

Oranges, like other citrus fruits, is an excellent source of Vitamin C, A and other flavonoid antioxidants such as alpha and beta-carotenes. The colour by itself communicates warmth and energy.. the reason why it is widely given to people to get well soon.

Red

Day 18/Week 3

Strawberries.... rich in beta-carotene, folic acid, biotin, C, small amounts of B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, E, calcium, chlorine, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, sulphur, small amounts of copper, iron and zinc.

Colours of Strength

In the coming days, i shall be posting on the theme "colours"... that too the natural colours of fruits which give us strength.

Star of the night

Day 17/Week 3

Watching the waxing and waning of the moon is my favourite. At nights i pass time by gazing at the beauty of the dark sky glittering with stars and the moon. Black and White beauty by nature.

Monkeying Around

Day 16/Week 3
Whatelse do i do being all alone at home all day long... other than monkeying around ???

Chirpy Chit-Chat

Day 15/Week 3

Wings of beauty.... this bird buddy came to visit its friend for a brief chit chat.

Flying High

Day14/Week 2

Needless to say, the fluttering wings add action to the otherwise dull picture.

Ho Ho Ho.... Merry Christmas

Day 13/Week 2

Cute little christmas buddies...

Christmas Fever

Day 12/Week 2

Though this might not be appropriate to post this picture now, still is better to be late than never. This Castle was one of the main attractions in a newly inaugurated mall.

Leaving for lunch

Day 11/Week 2

Capturing the beauties of God's creation gives me a high. Especially when it is nature, animals and birds. This pigeon perched on the sunshade on a sunny afternoon started to fly the moment i wanted to capture the scene... maybe he is flying home for lunch ;-)

My second daughter

Day 10/Week 2

This tulasi madam was gifted to me by a family friend on our house warming ceremony. Though it is smaller in size rather than the usual, i am preserving this special gift for the past decade, and love her to the core, that i would proudly call her my second daughter.

Cheerful Always

Day 9/Week 2

These cute colourful smileys adore a corner in our drawing room. One look at
them gives all the cheer i need on a dull day.

How to name it ????

Day 8/ Week 2

Being an amateur has its own plus and minus. This is a blooper or a better picture ???? This was clicked while trying to focus the flame on the diya :)

All that glitters is GOD

Day 7/ Week 1

As said earlier, i love lighting lamps. It takes me close to divinity.

A Visit to the Zoo

Day 6/ Week 1

Looking less cheerful, this kingfisher was spotted on our visit to the local zoological park. To me, it looked like he was sad at the plight of the caged animals.

Rare Visitor

Day 5/ Week 1

This bird, though i don't know it's name, gave me a surprise visit one fine morning.. the chirps that he conveyed made my day a memorable one.

Sweet Surprise

Day 4/Week 1
A friend came home as a new year surprise. She made me feel special by gifting some best chocolates, which were as sweet as her. We enjoyed the noon chatting sweet nothings for hours together.

Lead kindly light

I love lighting traditional lamps.. the smell of gingely oil that is heated up due to the fire on the wick is heaven to me. The shadow that the light produced on a power-cut night, inspired me to capture the moment. It looks as though the lamp is spreading the message to lead kindly light :)

This reminded me of the hymn from the poem "The Pillar of Cloud" by John Henry Newman.

Day 3/Week 1

Lead, Kindly Light
"Lead, Kindly Light, amidst th'encircling gloom,
Lead Thou me on!
The night is dark, and I am far from home,
Lead Thou me on!
Keep Thou my feet; I do not ask to see
The distant scene; one step enough for me.
I was not ever thus, nor prayed that Thou
Shouldst lead me on;
I loved to choose and see my path; but now
Lead Thou me on!
I loved the garish day, and, spite of fears,
Pride ruled my will. Remember not past years!
So long Thy power hath blest me, sure it still
Will lead me on.
O’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent, till
The night is gone,
And with the morn those angel faces smile,
Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile!
Meantime, along the narrow rugged path,
Thyself hast trod,
Lead, Saviour, lead me home in childlike faith,
Home to my God.
To rest forever after earthly strife
In the calm light of everlasting life."

Apple of my eye

Day 2/Week 1

This is one of the favourite pics of my angel... though she is not with me today, this picture of hers conveys a lot. As it is a known cliche that a picture speaks a thousand words, this photo radiates strength.. motivation.. courage.. confidence.. energy.. patience.. perseverance..power and a lot more.

Moon on a day

Day 1/ Week 1
This moon was captured on a broad daylight.... my debut click on my new Sony DSC HX-100V

Excited about the start

Hi friends, as i have been blogging for the past year, i thought i shall try something different this time. I have taken up this challenge of posting a picture daily for the year 2012... this gives me a blood rush as i am all excited to start a new leaf in my life. I love animals and nature more than myself :))

Would love to receive your comments and suggestions .... criticism is welcome too, though in a lighter tone.
